Black and Blue

Last Christmas, I was given an over-sized Lee denimΒ shirt. The rest was history after that. Me and my denim shirt have been inseparable. It’s one of my favorite items in my closet. It’s both comfy and stylish, and I’m a s*cker for those.

What can you do with a denim shirt? I think the better question is, “What can’t you do with a denim shirt?” Wear it with colorful jeans, with white jeans, with leather bottoms, with a dress, with a skirt, with another denim item, with shorts…go crazy with it if you want. I usually wear it as a cover up, or as an oomph provider. I made that up, but it should make sense. Right? Oomph provider… an item that instantly gives your outfit that extra little something when you add it.

Not glum in plum

My closet has always been filled with clothes that are black, white, and brown. Well, mostly black. But, when I saw this number on a rack at a bazaar in Clark though, I fell in love. It’s the right length I want, the fabric is light and comfy (necessity because of the almost unbearable summer heat here these days), and it has a high neck line which makes me appear taller (at least that’s what I think). Also, it goes well with my hair color now, don’t you think?

This number got me thinking about buying more colors for my wardrobe. Maybe this year I’ll include my wardrobe in the list of things I want to change and improve.

P.S. Apologies for my dirty shoes. I never realized how dirty they were until I saw my photos. haha

Tawny Scrawny Lion

This marks my first ever outfit drawing post. I’m really determined to do well when I enter school again. What’s hard is I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree that is all science and math. My artsy fartsy creative thinking has been locked up deep in my mind or if not, very limited for years, especially when I started working in laboratories wherein I couldn’t express myself freely 12 hours a day 7 days a week. It was fun being a quality assurance microbiologist, but I always felt there was something missing.

After being able to save enough money to be able to go to a fashion and art school this year, I quit my job. Now, I’m on the process of unlocking every potential I have. I’m practicing every day and working hard. Hoping I would continueΒ to improve. Wishing I could be a lion and gain all the courage I need to get through all the hurdles I’m going to face on this new path.
